Suspect Arrested In 1996 Homicide Case

On November 23, 1996, at approximately 8:45 p.m., two adult males were shot at the Shell Gas Station located in the 4700 block of South Capitol Street, Southeast. One victim, Mr. Anthony Bias, was shot several times. He was seriously injured but was still breathing. The second victim was shot in the leg. Citizens on the scene drove both victims to Hadley Hospital, located at 4601 Martin Luther King, Jr., Avenue, Southwest, for medical treatment.

The suspect in this shooting apparently followed the car from the gas station to the hospital and shot Mr. Bias several more times. A nurse assisting the victims was shot in the leg. Mr. Bias was transported to DC General Hospital and admitted in critical condition. He died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m. The nurse and the victim from the gas station were treated and released.

The homicide investigation conducted by the Seventh District's Unsolved Murder Unit led to today's arrest of 26 year-old Androcas Marshall of the 3300 block of Mont Clare Lane in Bowie, Maryland . Mr. Marshall was arrested at his home, without incident, by Seventh District Detectives and Prince George's County Officers. He is currently awaiting extradition back to the District where he faces Murder 1 charges.
