Homicide on Pleasant Street, SE

On Saturday, June 23, 2001 at approximately 5:50 a.m., DCFD medical personnel and members of the Seventh District were call to the corner of 13th and Pleasant SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival units located an unidentified female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. DCFD medical personnel on the scene could find no life signs from the victim.

The victim, identified as 36-year-old Stephanie Lorraine Sellers of the 1900 block of 16th Street, SE, was transported to the DC Medical Examiner's Office where she was officially pronounced dead at 10:47 a.m.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives of the Seventh District. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at 202-698-1276 or the DC Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777.

The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
