On Sunday, June 24, 2001, at approximately 8:30 P.M, a motorcyclist was
travelling westbound in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE when
he struck the rear end of a passenger vehicle. Consequently, the motorcyclist
was ejected from his vehicle. The operator of the passenger vehicle stopped,
identified herself and attempted to assist the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist, who has been identified as Kerry Adams of Bowie,
Maryland, was transported by ambulance to the Washington
Hospital Center's MedSTAR Unit where he was admitted in critical condition.
The accident is currently under investigation by members of the Metropolitan
Police Department's Major Crash Investigations Unit.
