February Death of Senior Citizen Ruled a Homicide

At approximately 6:15 pm on Friday, February 17, 2006, officers from the First District responded to a private residence located at 1503 Otis Street, NE, to investigate the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, officers inside discovered 84-year-old Annette Oxley of the above address in an unconscious condition. Emergency medical personnel from the DC Fire Department responded but could find no signs consistent with life. Ms. Oxley was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where she was pronounced dead.

On Thursday, July 27, 2006, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death in this case was due to  Acute and Chronic Cocaine Intoxication and that  the manner of was homicide.

This case is under investigation by members from the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
