Arrest Made in November 2005 Shooting on Corcoran Street, NE

At approximately 9:07 am on Thursday, November 17, 2005, Metropolitan Police were called to the 1800 block of Corcoran Street, NE, to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds.

The first victim, who has been identified as 29-year-old Patrick Carter of an unknown address, was suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was  transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit, where he was pronounced  dead at 9:35 am. The second victim, a 22-year-old female, was transported to an area hospital with apparent non-life threatening gunshot wounds to both arms. Her name is being withheld at this time due to the fact that she is a witness in this case.

The above case was closed on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, with the arrest of 27-year-old William Heath, of the 1800 block of Kendall Street, NE. He was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed.
