Homicide in the 2300 Block of Pitts Place, SE

At approximately 6:15 am, on Saturday, August 5, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to an apartment building located in the 2300 block of Pitts Place, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located 27-year-old Harold Taylor, of the 2300 block of Elvans Road, SE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit and pronounced dead.

 

Also located was a 22-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. His identity is being withheld at this time because he is considered a witness in the above case. 

 

At this time it is believed that the two men were the victims of an apparent robbery. The suspects in the above case are described only as two black males armed with handguns.

 

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
