On Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at approximately 12:30 pm, Metroplitan Police and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the 1400 block of Girard Street, NW, to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and lying in the 1400 block of Girard Street, NW.

The victim, who has been identified as 22-year-old Ricardo Jones, of the 1200 block of Delaware Avenue, SW, was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR Unit where he was pronounced dead.

Later that evening, a 15-year-old male juvenile was charged with Murder II While Armed in connection with the fatal shooting of Ricardo Jones.  The suspect, whose name is being withheld because he is a juvenile, is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in DC Superior Court.
