Teenager Charged in Homicide on Good Hope Road, SE

On Thursday, August 10, 2006, at approximately 2 am, Metropolitan Police were called to an apartment inside a building in the 1800 block of Good Hope Road, SE, to investigate the report of trouble.   Upon arrival, they located 57-year-old Michael Copeland, of the Good Hope Road address, suffering from multiple stab wounds.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life.  The body was then transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

 

MPDC detectives closed this homicide on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, with the arrest of 16-year-old Alisha Carrington, of the 1800 block of Good Hope Road, SE.  She has been charged as an adult, under Title 16 of the DC Code, with Murder II While Armed.  She is scheduled to be arraigned in DC Superior Court.
