Pedestrian Fatality in the 1700 Block of 8th Street, NW

At approximately 9:02 pm, on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, an adult female was attempting to cross the street in the 1700 block of 8th Street. NW. It was at this time she was struck by a 1992 Ford Crown Victoria, which was reportedly traveling northbound in reverse. The male driver of the Ford subsequently exited the vehicle and fled on foot after striking the victim.  

 

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Angela Lynette Noble, of the 1800 block of 8th Street, NW. She was transported to Howard University Hospital and pronounced dead.

 

This case is under active investigation by members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

This is the 27th traffic fatality in the District of Columbia this year; 13 victims have been pedestrians.
