Suspects Sought in Armed Robbery of Georgetown Jewelry Store

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating four suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery and shooting.

At approximately 1:58 pm, on Sunday, August 20, 2006, three black males entered the Georgetown Fine Jewelry and Art store, located in the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue, NW. Once inside, at least one of the men produced a dark colored handgun. The store was subsequently robbed of cash and jewelry, and two store employees were robbed of cash and credit cards. One of the suspects actually exited the store during the robbery to speak to people window shopping. During the course of the robbery, one of the store’s employees was shot in the body. He was taken to an area hospital and admitted in critical but stable condition.

The suspects reportedly entered a white-colored vehicle occupied by a fourth suspect in the 3100 block of N Street, NW, and made good their escape. The suspects in this case are described as four black males in their late twenties to early thirties.

This case is under investigation by members of the MPD/FBI Robbery Task Force and detectives assigned to the Second District. Anyone who has information about this robbery or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
