On Monday, August 28, 2006, at approximately 4:30 pm, Metropolitan Police and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the vicinity of 13th and Pleasant Streets, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male shooting victim lying in the 2200 block of 13th Street, SE. The victim, who has been identified as 41-year-old Ronald Gordon, of the 1400 block of Meridian Place, NW, was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR Unit, where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle described as a gray colored van, make, model and license tag number unknown, left the area immediately following the shooting.
The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call polcie at (202) 727-9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
