Fatal Shooting on 3rd Street, NW

At approximately 5:20 this morning, police and DCFD emergency medical personnel responded to the 1400 block of 3rd Street, NW, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds slumped over the steering wheel of a Lexus.

The victim, who has been identified as 30-year-old Sterling Davis, of the 1400 block of 3rd Street, NW, was transported to Howard University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the department's Third District . Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at (202) 673-6914 or the DC Crime Solvers Unit at (800) 673-2777.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a $10,000 award to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
