Death of 15 Year Old Under Investigation -- UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Cause of Death Ruled

On Monday, September 25, 2006, at approximately 12:30 pm, Metropolitan Police responded to the rear of the 1000 block of 51st Street, NE, to investigate the report of an unconscious person.  Upon arrival, they located 15-year-old Dominick Alonzo Dixon, of the 4700 block of Sheriff Road, NE. 

 

He was pronounced dead on the scene by a member of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.  The body was then transported to the DC Morgue, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

 

Update, 9/27/2006:

  • On Tuesday, September 26, this case was closed with the arrest of 51-year-old Robert James Crosby, of the 1000 block of 51st Street, NE.  He has been charged with Murder Two.

 

Update, 9/27/2006:

  • On Wednesday, September 27, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the official cause of death in this case to be asphyxiation.
