Homicide at 1706 L Street, NE

On Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at approximately 11 p.m., Fifth District officers were called to the 1700 block of L Street, NE, for a radio assignment to investigate the trouble. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from blunt force trauma to the head and face. The subject was transported to Washington Hospital Center's MedSTAR Unit, where he was pronounced dead.

The man was later identified as 33-year-old James Junior Osborne of the 1700 block of L Street, NE.

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Fifth District. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call detectives at (202) 727-4504 or the Crime Solvers Unit at (800) 673-2777. The department currently offers a $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
