Double Shooting on Langston Place, SE

At approximately 11:20 pm on Monday, August 13, 2001, police and DCFD emergency medical personnel responded to the 2700 block of Langston Place, SE to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered that two individuals had been shot.

One of the victims, who has been identified as 22-year-old Darron Maurice Moore, of the 2800 block of Langston Place, SE, was found lying in the street. He was transported to P.G. County Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:03 am on Tuesday, August 14th. The second victim, whose identity is being withheld because he is a witness in the case, was taken to an area hospital where he was admitted for treatment of apparently non-life-threatening injuries.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the Seventh District. Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at (202) 698-1276 or the DC Crime Solvers Unit at (800) 673-2777.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
