Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier announced today that effective immediately Assistant Chief Diane Groomes has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation into an allegation that she was involved in compromising a test administered to some members of the command staff as part of their annual in-service training.

Effective immediately Assistant Chief Alfred Durham will oversee the Patrol Services and School Security Bureau.

To protect the integrity of the process, the test results for all members of the command staff have been invalidated and a new test will be developed.

This matter is being investigated by the Department’s Internal Affairs Division.
