(Washington, DC) The Mayor’s Office on African Affairs (OAA) in partnership with the Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA) is pleased to inform you that the Ethiopian Community Center, Inc. (ECC) has been selected as one of the two community-based organizations to receive funding under the Fiscal Year 2007 Community Interpretation Grant. Under this grant, ECC shall be funded $11,625 for the period starting May 1, 2007 and ending September 31, 2007, to train several DC employees and community members to provide quality Amharic interpretation and access to District services for the Limited English Proficient community in the District.
