The Standing Committee on Fairness and Access invites members of the African Immigrant Community to a dialogue session about the experiences of African immigrants with the DC Courts.
The Standing Committee is interested in hearing about community members’ experiences with the Courts including as a litigant, witness, spectator, juror, or attorney in a proceeding or matter; an applicant for a job, clerkship, or internship; a victim of crime seeking compensation; or a user of any court service, including mediation, probate, and website. The Standing Committee is particularly interested in any issues, barriers, or impediments to the judicial system due to language, culture, immigration status, race, ethnicity, national origin, or gender. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 6pm-8pm in the Edna Frazier Cromwell Community Room of the Frank D. Reeves Municipal Center. It is located at 2000 14th Street NW Washington, DC 20009.
Your participation will help the DC Courts to enhance the fair and impartial administration of justice in the District of Columbia.
