The Mayor's Office on African Affairs (OAA), in partnership with DC Area Health Education Center (DC AHEC), is sponsoring an African Community Health Awareness Fair, a comprehensive and interactive health fair designed to educate, inform, screen and test African immigrants for health related issues in an effort to decrease health disparities amongst African immigrant and refugee populations in the District of Columbia.
The event will include education, information, and testing for HIV/AIDS provided by The Department of Health HIV/AIDS division and screening and testing for prostate cancer, glaucoma and diabetes provided by Howard University Hospital.
