Attorney General Petitions the Court for Rehearing in Parker v. District of Columbia

Washington, DC - Linda Singer, Attorney General for the District of Columbia, announced today that her Office has filed on behalf of the District of Columbia a petition for rehearing in Parker v. District of Columbia. General Singer is requesting that the full panel of the United States Court of Appeals (Court of Appeals) for the District of Columbia Circuit review the decision reached by the Court of Appeals on March 9, 2007. The March decision repealed the District's gun ban which prohibits District residents from possessing guns in their homes. District law will remain in effect pending the outcome of the case.
