Under the settlement, Purdue Pharma:

Must not market or promote OxyContin for purposes beyond those approved by the FDA

Must require every recipient of funds or grants from the company to publicly disclose that fact whenever they make a presentation that references OxyContin

Must not sponsor any educational event where Purdue Pharma knows that a speaker will recommend the off-label use of OxyContin

Must not base Purdue Pharma salespeople’s bonuses solely on the volume of OxyContin prescribed
As part of the settlement, Purdue Pharma has agreed to pay the participating states a total of $19.5 million. The District, as one of the leaders of the multistate investigation, will receive a $949,500 share.
