DC’s AG Kicks Off National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week

Washington, DC - Attorney General Robert J. Spagnoletti announced today his office is taking part in National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week. General Spagnoletti kicked off the week at Woodrow Wilson High School with Idaho Senator Mike Crapo; California Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald; the US Departments of Justice, Health and Human Services, and Education; the American Bar Association; teens and multiple child advocacy and domestic violence organizations.

General Spagnoletti is lending his support to the bipartisan effort in Congress to bring national attention to teen dating violence, marking the week of February 6th as "National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week."

Teen dating violence is a crime that effects 1 out of 3 teens. "Dating violence is threatening the well-being of our youth," said General Spagnoletti. "And there is no greater public concern than protecting the lives of our citizens - particularly the lives of our youth. They are our future."
