The Office of the Clean City met with a delegation from Armenia through the League of Women Voters. The focus of the meeting was to explain how the DC Government addresses trash, pollution and blighted property issues. We explained how we outreach to the community, schools and neighborhood associations in order to educate and inform residents about the importance of recycling and keeping the community clean. Additionally, we explained our role as a government agency. The Office of the Clean City works with city leaders, the EPA and other federal organizations concerning laws and legislation in order to enforce Clean City initiatives.
The Armenian Delegation was delighted and felt well informed by the briefing. They asked questions, took pictures and received literature concerning the Clean City initiative.
