Washington, DC–The District of Columbia Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) announced the award of a new city-wide term contract for recycled copier paper. The contract was awarded to American Supply Company.
“The award of this contract is significant because it will allow agencies to order recycled paper against an established contract with prices and contract terms that have already been established, and it will allow OCP to concentrate on more complex contracting activities,” said Chief Procurement Officer David P. Gragan. “This contract will save taxpayers approximately $800,000 each year.”
The contract terms and conditions have been determined, and the price has been established through full and open competition. When entering a requisition into the Procurement Automated Support System (PASS) for recycled paper, agencies must use American Supply Company as the preferred vendor. Requisitions that do not follow this process will be denied.
Moving forward, OCP will begin establishing term contracts for goods and services that are frequently used by District agencies. OCP will establish these contracts on behalf of agencies through the normal competitive process. This process will ensure that the District gets the best product for its money based on annual city-wide purchasing volume. Agencies will be required to purchase goods from the established contracts.
