The Unified Communications Center (UCC) Project Team, in conjunction with the Jair Lynch/Tompkins Joint Venture, held their second annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive and collected enough contributions to donate 50 complete Thanksgiving dinner baskets (including turkeys) to needy families in Ward 8. The UCC would like to thank all of the participating sponsors and employees for their generous contributions towards making this event a success.
The effort was tremendously successful thanks to the generous corporate contributions from the Jair Lynch/Tompkins Joint Venture, Jacobs Engineering group, TDC, Young Engineering Systems, L.Robert Kimball & Associates, CCAI, and personal contributions from employees of The Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). Each food basket contained a number of nonperishable food items, as well as a turkey, to make a full Thanksgiving meal. The baskets were distributed at St. Elizabeths Chapel on Tuesday, November 21, 2005, just in time for the holidays. The distribution of the baskets was coordinated with Ward 8 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. The ANC’s assisted in identifying needy families within Ward 8 and assisted with the distribution process.
