The UCC Project is featured in a Homeland Defense Week eight-minute video. Dan Verton, executive producer and award-winning journalist at Homeland Defense Week, interviewed Office of Unified Communications (OUC) Director Mike Latessa, UCC Program Manager Allam Al-Alami, and several technology vendors for the story. The video explains the vision of the UCC as an emergency preparedness tool to help the District manage resources in the event of an emergency and the challenges the District has overcome through the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) technology initiatives.
The video documents the importance of the UCC's role in supporting and coordinating first responders and the agencies responsible for Homeland Security both locally and regionally.
