October is National Disability Awareness Month and National Disability Employment Awareness Month. In recognition of these two significant events, the Office of Disability Rights, in collaboration with several other DC government agencies, is hosting the 2008 DC Disability Awareness Conference and the Disability Mentoring Days.
2008 DC Disability Awareness Conference – Possibilities: Leadership, Collaboration, and Change for Disability Rights in the District of Columbia

2008 Disability Mentoring Days
The Office of Disability Rights, in collaboration with the Government of the District of Columbia, will participate in a series of Disability Mentoring activities in the DC area to bring mentees and employers from DC Government agencies together beginning October 15, 2008 and continuing toward the end of the month. Disability Mentoring Days promote career development for students and job-seekers with disabilities through job shadowing and hands-on career exploration.
