The Office of Disability Rights is pleased to present the “DRAFT” version of the Olmstead Plan, so named “DC: One Community for All”. DC: One Community for All complies with the 1999 Supreme Court decision and is a policy document that details the rights of each person with a disability for self-determination. In the spirit of independence, DC: One Community for All focuses on each individual’s right to choose where they want to live in the community. This plan is the result of the hard work, advocacy, and encouragement of DC residents, consumers, community leaders, caretakers, service providers, and advocate groups. It is our intention to foster inclusion in the District of Columbia and ODR encourages you to review this document. This document will be immediately available* in several formats:

Please review this very important initiative and ODR welcomes your input. The community and other interested parties are encouraged to provide their comments and feedback. This document is available for public review and comment until May 15, 2009. Immediately following the comment period, ODR will review with the Olmstead Community Integration Council the feedback received by ODR. A final document will be submitted to the Mayor’s Office for review and comment.
