Participants will be able to attend the following workshops:
I. How to Finance your College Education
  Kim B. Patton

Are you looking for undergraduate scholarships? Join us for a presentation on obtaining financial aid for your studies. We will dispel some common myths about foundation support and discuss:

  • What you need to know before approaching foundations.
  • The different sources of funding (scholarships, grants, loans, etcetera).
  • Where to go to find print and electronic resources that provide information on scholarships.
  • What you need to apply and how to make your application successful.

II. How to Survive and Succeed in College
    Dr. Guy F. Shroyer

So you want to go to college?  Are you worried about what to expect?  In this workshop you will learn what you need to do to meet the challenges of college and graduate with a degree that could change your life.  What should I expect in my college experience?  What do I have to do to pass courses?  To get good grades?  To find something I would love to do for a living?  Tips will be offered on how to make the right choices, on how to handle the tough challenges and get the most out of your college experience. This workshop will help you to better plan what you need to do in order to experience the satisfaction of personal achievement and recognition in your college career.  Questions you have will be answered by a professor who has many years experience in helping aspiring students not only to survive, but to succeed.
