And the Small Business Advocate Award Goes to. . . Erik A. Moses

(Los Angeles, California) – The Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) named Erik A. Moses, director of the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), the Small Business Advocate of the Year.

Although the Chamber’s mission is to promote the economic growth and development of African American businesses in Los Angeles, this year it recognized individuals and corporations around the country who have impacted the economic growth and development of the nation’s larger African American business community.

“I’m honored to receive this award. GLAAACC’s recognition shows that other jurisdictions are beginning to take notice of the work we are doing in the Fenty Administration to expand economic opportunities for all businesses, but especially small businesses in the District of Columbia,” Moses said.

The Small Business Advocate of the Year Award that Moses received was one of 14 awards the GLAAACC presented at its 15th annual dinner, held in The California Ballroom at the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown. Other awards included honors for the Executive of the Year, the African American Business of the Year, the Minority Business Advocate, and Small Business Purchasing.
