(Washington, DC) - The District Government will convene a conference in early August to highlight the many opportunities for Certified Business Enterprises (CBE) to participate in the construction of the 350,000-square-foot Consolidated Forensic Laboratory (CFL). The $218 million project includes a 35 percent set-aside for Certified Business Enterprises (CBE).
The conference, a multi-agency undertaking of the Office of Property Management (OPM), the Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP), and the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), will be held:
Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 3 pm - 5 pm,
Room 1125 (11th floor, south)
One Judiciary Square/441 4th Street, NW
The CFL will be built by OPM at 4th and Schools Street, SW. It will bring under one roof the Forensic Laboratory of the Metropolitan Police Department, the Department of Public Health Laboratory and the Chief Medical Examiner.
OPM will manage the construction of the project along with its architecture/engineering and construction management subcontractors. Working with DSLBD, OPM will ensure that the 35 percent CBE set-aside is met, if not exceeded. DSLBD staff will be on-site to answer questions regarding the CBE procedure and assist in CBE registration.
Potential attendees should RSVP to darsellmarket1@cs.com. For additional information on the CFL, please go the project website: cfl.opm.dc.gov.
