DSLBD Announces Solicitation for Construction Services for Deanwood Community Center and Library Project

(WASHINGTON, DC) The Office of the Deputy  Mayor for Planning and Economic Development has issued a solicitation for Construction Services (General Contractor) for the Deanwood Community Center and Library project. The Deanwood Community Center (the “Project”) is a co-location facility that is located at 49th and Meade Streets, NE, Washington, DC. It will include a recreation center facility which shall include an in-door leisure swimming pool, locker rooms, gymnasium, game room, full library, child care facilities, dedicated senior area, kitchen, and multi-purpose facilities. The proposed building size for this facility is approximately 63,000 sq. ft. and will be a LEED Silver facility. A budget range between $20 million to $24 million has been designated for the construction of the project. The site has existing tennis courts, playground, a swimming pool with house attached, existing field lights and an existing building all of which needs to be demolished for the new facility to be built.
