(Washington, DC) The DC Office of Property Management (OPM) today announced that the deadline for the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the restoration, renovation and reuse of the Old Naval Hospital has been extended by two weeks to 5 pm, Monday, March 26, 2007.
"We have received a number of requests to extend the time available to submit proposals for the Old Naval Hospital; therefore, to get the best possible proposals we are postponing the deadline by two weeks," said Lars Etzkorn, OPM Director. "OPM wants to make sure that this Capitol Hill and District landmark is put the best possible longterm, community-centered use."
The RFP is for longterm lease of the property for development and mutually agreed-upon use. Preference will be given to proposals that maximize community use/access, emphasize the historical nature of the site and minimally impact the property and the community. The proposals will be evaluated by a public/private review board which will make a recommendation to the OPM Director for final decision.
The RFP is posted at the OPM website; submissions are due by 5 pm, Monday, March 26, 2007 to the Office of Property Management. Please direct inquiries to Aimee Occhetti (202) 724-4141.
