District Notifies Charter Schools of Surplus Buildings
Keene, Langston/Slater and Reno are the three surplus school buildings

Contact: Bill Rice (202) 437-7787

The DC Office of Property Management (OPM), in cooperation with the DC State Education Office, today sent notices to the District’s public charter schools that OPM will issue a Solicitation of Offers from Charter Schools to lease the following three surplus school buildings: Keene (33 Riggs Road, NE), Langston/Slater, (33/45 P Street, NW) and Reno (4820 Howard Street, NW).

"OPM is pleased to notify charter shools of this forthcoming Solicitation," said Lars Etzkorn, OPM Director.  "We anticipate that potential responders will start planning their submissions, thereby expediting their responses."

OPM is also arranging visits to the buildings. Interested charter schools are asked to submit their contact information to Regina Payton, (202) 727-7034.

Charter schools are required by DC law to be given first opportunity to lease or buy most surplus public schools.
