OPM Welcomes New Chief of Green Programs

Contact: Bill Rice (202) 437-7787

The Office of Property Management (OPM) today welcomed Robin Snyder as OPM's new Chief of Green Programs.  Ms. Snyder brings 15 years of experience at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to OPM.
At EPA, she managed highly successful programs to promote green activities such as sustainable transportation, smart growth, safe water supply, brownfield redevelopment, green buildings and environmental economics for foreign officials.

"Robin's outstanding environmental record will help the District be a green leader," said Lars Etzkorn, OPM Director.  "Her skills will be concentrated initially on promoting recycling, waste reduction and green roofs in our DC government buildings and reducing drive-alone commuting by District employees."

Ms. Snyder, while at EPA, developed and managed budgets, recruitment and training efforts, served as spokesperson and collaborated with a host of federal and state agencies, nonprofit organizations and private companies.  Her most recent success was with the "Best Workplaces for Commuters" program, which consistently exceeded national goals to move employees to sustainable commuting options.

Ms. Snyder has also held positions with the Battelle Pacific Northwest Labs, the University of Tennessee and the Tennessee Valley Authority.

She has been professionally recognized numerous times for her work with EPA, the White House and the Vice President's office and published several reports and guides related to her work. She holds degrees from the University of Tennessee and the University of Maryland.
