(Washington, DC) The Department of Real Estate Services (DRES) has issued a Request for Offers (RFO) to lease two former schools, Evans Junior High School at 5600 East Capitol Street, NE, and McGogney Elementary School at 3400 Wheeler Road, SE. 

The RFO is only open to eligible parties under applicable law, primarily charter schools. The proposals will be evaluated based on several criteria, including the organization’s financial viability and demonstrated financial capacity to execute the proposed program.

RFO responses are due by noon EDT, April 16, 2010, delivered to: Department of Real Estate Services, Attn: Althea Holford, 2000 14th Street, NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20009.

The anticipated evaluation timetable is: RFO issued, Friday, March 19, 2010; RFO pre-bid conference, Friday, March 26, 2010 at 441 4th Street, NW, Washington, DC, Room 1114, 6 pm to 8 pm; site visits March 30 and 31 (exact time and details will be posted no later than March 26); offers due April 16 no later than noon, notification late April or May 2010.
