(Washington, DC) - The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has moved to the Anacostia Gateway Government Center (AGGC) at 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE. All DHCD divisions, including those located at 941 North Capitol Street, have relocated to the new building in historic Anacostia.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:15 am on Monday, February 2. All department phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.

The Housing Service Center will be temporarily located on the second floor until the completion of the first floor customer service area. Signs directing constituents to the second floor will be posted at the building’s entrance.

The Anacostia Gateway Government Center is located at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Good Hope Road, SE and is accessible by car, the Anacostia Metrorail Station and numerous bus routes along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE.

The mission of the Department of Housing and Community Development is to create and preserve opportunities for affordable housing and economic development and to revitalize underserved communities in the District of Columbia. DHCD fulfills its mission by providing gap financing; increasing first-time homeownership opportunities; providing funding to rehabilitate single-family and multi-family homes; supporting communities through neighborhood based activities; providing funding for homelessness prevention; addressing vacant and abandoned properties; and overseeing the administration of rental housing laws.
