1.  "Tenant Protection Act of 2009", Bill 18-42. To prevent the District from closing occupied rental properties and displacing tenants due to the owner’s failure to maintain the premises in compliance with the D.C. housing and building codes, except in case of emergency when the conditions cannot be rectified. (Introduced by Councilmember Graham)


2.  "Omnibus Rental Housing Amendment Act of 2009", Bill 18-92. To allow a tenant to bring a cause of action in the Landlord and Tenant Branch of the Superior  Court of the District of Columbia to enforce the provisions of the District of Columbia  Housing Code; to require inspection of residential properties by the Mayor to ensure  habitability; and to require notice to tenants of DCRA/OAH enforcement proceedings
 and due process protections. (Introduced by Councilmember Graham)
