As the filing deadline nears, the Office of Tax and Revenue has extended its service hours to assist taxpayers to meet their tax obligations. Customer service specialists are available from 8:15 am to 7 pm, March 31 to April 14 and from 8:15 am to 8 pm on April 15.
Free preparation of District individual income tax returns is available at the walk-in center at 941 North Capitol Street, NE, on the first floor. Simply bring a copy of your completed federal tax return, supporting W-2 forms and schedules, and a valid driver’s license or state identification. Taxpayers who may need additional time to file their tax returns are reminded that they can submit and pay their FR-127 Extension of Time for Individual Income Tax online via the Electronic Taxpayer Service Center (ETSC). Taxpayers can also use ETSC to file and make payments of D-40ES Estimated Payments for Individual Income Tax. Links to these forms are listed below:
