(Washington, DC) The Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) will hold its third annual “Tax Resolution Day” on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, from noon to 8 pm at 941 North Capitol Street, NE. This outreach event provides taxpayers with an opportunity to address their individual, business and real property tax issues outside of OTR’s normal business hours.
“Our goal is to conveniently provide our customers with the information and services they need to meet their tax obligations,” said Deputy Chief Financial Officer Sherryl Hobbs Newman.
The services provided during Tax Resolution Day include:
-
Preparation of DC individual income tax returns;
-
Payment of all taxes (in the form of money orders or checks);
-
Submission of payment agreements, waiver requests and offers in compromise;
-
Homestead exemption verification and adjustments;
-
Real property assessments;
-
Voluntary disclosures; and
-
Certified copies of tax returns.
For more information about Tax Resolution Day or to schedule an appointment for that day, taxpayers should call OTR’s Customer Service Center at (202) 727-4TAX (4829). OTR will do its best to accommodate special needs individuals, as well as provide foreign language assistance if indicated when the appointment is scheduled.
