Veterans and Survivors Should File Taxes to Get Economic Stimulus Payment

Hello Veterans!

The end of tax season is drawing near, and many of you have not filed. Actually, many of you do not have to file. But perhaps you’ve heard of the Internal Revenue Service’s Economic Stimulus Payments (ESP). Well, if you think those payments are only for those who file, you’re wrong. Those who do not have to file a tax return each year may also be eligible for the ESP, if they’ve earned at least $3000 in income. However, to find out if you’re eligible, you must file an income tax return for tax year 2007. The simplest form is the 1040A. Please see the section below with links to additional information, the form 1040A, and a cheat sheet on filling out the form. Remember, the money may be yours, but it’s up to you to file!
