Veterans Day is Tuesday, November 11, 2008. If you are in Washington, DC, there are many opportunities to pay tribute to our men and women in the Armed Forces - past, present, and future. And with the many events taking place at the national monuments and memorials, it is a great time to tour them as well.

Veterans Day at the World War II Memorial. At 8 am, a wreath-laying ceremony will be placed at the National World War II Memorial.
Veterans Day at Arlington National Cemetery. At 11 am, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, followed by a ceremony in the Memorial Amphitheater. For further information, call (703) 607-8000.

Veterans Day at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. At 1 pm, a ceremony featuring speakers, a color guard and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will take place. For further information, call (202) 619-7222.
Veterans Day at the United States Navy Memorial. At 1 pm, the Naval District of Washington will lay a wreath at the Lone Sailor Statue, located at the US Navy Memorial at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. For further information, call (202) 737-2300.
