DC Commission for Women Hosts a Reception for DC Public Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee

On August 16, 2007 the DC Commission for Women will hold a reception in honor of Michelle Rhee, the new DC Public Schools Chancellor. The event will take place at McKinley Technology High School, 151 T Street, NE Washington, DC and starts at 6:30 pm. Barbara Lang of the DC Chamber of Commerce and other senior officials will be in attendance. This is an opportunity for parents to engage the Chancellor and met the Commissioners before the school year starts.

The DC Commission for Women is an advocacy agency and serves as a resource center and facilitator for planning and action to solve problems facing women today, and exists to ensure fairness and equality in the workplace and community. The District of Columbia Commission for Women has a cadre of dedicated volunteers who assist will all facets of the Commission’s work, such as community education, public relations, research, special events and legislative initiatives.
