OWPI Teams Up for Effi in the Fight for Leukemia Research

In spirit of the former DC First Lady Effi Barry's advocacy for bone marrow and leukemia support, the Office on Women's Policy and Initiatives is raising awareness of blood cancer issues in the District. On October 13th at 6:30 pm, OWPI will participate as part of Team Effi for the "Light the Night Walk" at the Freedom Plaza.

Our goal is to find a cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Thousands of Washingtonians will come together that night to support blood cancer patients and their families. The evening features a stage presentation, a live band, team tents, the Ballou High School Marching Band and the walk itself, which runs from Freedom Plaza to the US Capitol and back.

Your participation will build upon a legacy. So we hope you will join Team Effi at the Light the Night Walk. We would be delighted to have you as a team member as well.  You can register for the walk at online.
