DC Government Seeks Proposals for the Reuse of Public Schools

(Washington, DC) - In 2008, the Office of the Deputy Mayor of Education and the DC Office of Planning held meetings with residents and community stakeholders to discuss how excess space within local school buildings should be reused when the schools closed at the end of the 2008 academic year. 

Now the Government of the District of Columbia, through the office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, invites interested parties to respond to a Solicitation for Offers with proposals for the reuse of the following District of Columbia Public Schools assets:

  • Backus Middle School, located at 5171 South Dakota Avenue, NE
  • Grimke Elementary School, located at 1925 Vermont Avenue, NW
  • Hine Junior High School, located at 335 8th Street, SE
  • Langston Elementary School, located at 33 P Street, NW 
  • M.M. Washington High School, located at 27 O Street, NW
  • Randle Highlands Elementary School (historic 1911 school building only), located at 1650 30th Street, SE
  • Rudolph Elementary School, located at 5200 2nd Street, NW
  • Slater Elementary School, located at 45 P Street, NW
  • Slowe Elementary School, located at 1404 Jackson Street, NE
  • Stevens Elementary School, located at 1050 2st Street, NW
  • Young Elementary School, located at 820 26th Street, NE
