The District of Columbia State Board of Education will hold a public meeting Wednesday, November 19, 2008. At the meeting, the State Board will receive presentations on the proposed truancy regulations, standards on teacher preparation, and new graduation rates.

The public hearing will begin at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in Conference Room 1107, located on the eleventh floor of the building on the south side. Note the new start time and new location for the meeting.

Constituents who wish to comment at the public meeting are required to notify the State Board of Education in advance by contacting the executive director, Beverley Wheeler, by phone at (202) 741-0884 or by email at Beverley.Wheeler@dc.gov before the close of business Monday, November 17, 2008. Please provide one electronic copy and bring fifteen copies to the hearing for the State Board Members to view.
