The DC State Board of Education (DCSBOE) will hold its regularly scheduled public meeting Wednesday, February 18, 2009. At the meeting, the DCSBOE will vote on proposed amendments to the state’s accountability workbook, which is the state’s guide for determining schools’ Adequate Yearly Progress under No Child Left Behind.

In addition, the DCSBOE will receive a presentation from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) regarding the proposed rules for student residency verification. 

The public meeting will begin at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the District of Columbia State Board of Education Chambers, located on the lobby level of the building.

Constituents who wish to comment at the meeting are required to notify the State Board of Education in advance by contacting Executive Director, Beverley Wheeler, by phone at (202) 741-0884 or by email at Beverley.Wheeler@dc.gov before the close of business Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Please provide one electronic copy and bring 15 copies to the hearing for the State Board members to view.
