On Wednesday, February 27, the DC State Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting. The meeting will include a panel of educational experts who will discuss principal quality. The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the Old Council Chambers on the ground floor. Select the link below to view the meeting agenda.
The panel includes: Barbara Byrd-Bennett, Executive Officer of New Leaders for New Schools; Jennifer Smith, Associate Director of PreK-12 and District Assistance at The Education Trust; and Michelle Pierre-Farid, Principal at the Friendship Public Charter School, Southeast Elementary Academy Campus.
At the meeting, State Superintendent of Education Deborah A. Gist will discuss the School Improvement Plan Restructuring Rubric and also update the State Board on Home Schooling Policy, Teacher Standards and the Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre and Music Standards. In addition, the State Board will vote on the restructuring recommendations that will be given to the State Superintendent.
