The Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s Wellness and Nutrition Services department is pleased to provide a series of trainings for the Child and Adult Family Care Food Program (CACFP) participating child care food service providers and family day care home providers. 

The training program is funded as a part of the “2007 Team Nutrition Training Grant” for the District of Columbia by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) (fns.usda.gov 2008). The trainings will focus on healthy and safe meal service planning, preparation, and presentation for pre-school children which will include food demonstrations provided by the Capital Area Food Bank. In addition, each participant will receive training guides and resources.

The deadline for the registration has been extended and is now 4:30 pm on May 15, 2009. Each registrant must commit five weeks and two evenings per week unless they are registered as a family day care home provider. The trainings will be held at the UDC, Cooperative Extension Service, Center for Nutrition, Diet and Health located at 410 8th Street NW Room 301, Washington, DC 20001. View* the registration form and flier.
