This is due to newly approved amendments and the timeline required to implement petitions. As background, we received final approval from the US Department of Education for the DC accountability workbook on Friday, July 24.

Since several of these policies are now applicable for 2009 AYP determinations, OSSE needed appropriate time for schools to petition under these new policies. OSSE has received appeals from both DCPS and PCSB, and is carefully reviewing each one.

Determination letters will be provided to districts (LEAs) on August 14. They, along with appeal and petition determinations, will be posted on the OSSE website the same day.
